More Information
MotherNature is a common representation of nature that focuses on the life giving and nurturing properties of the Earth by embodying it in the form of a mother. To this extent the masculine form of the sun, when combined with the feminine form of the Earth, work together to create the conditions required for life on Earth.

MotherNature takes place in Canberra in late February, at a time when the golden colours of summer are in full swing and life is abundant and flourishing. We aim to provide an experience that allows you to bask in the warm sun with your friends and immerse yourself in music, arts, culture and lifestyle.

Our venue
Rose Cottage (www.rosecottagecanberra.com ). Rose Cottage is a bouttique heritage listed homestead on the South side of Canberra. The site features a number of old buildings used as cafes, bars and our indoor Terra stage. There is also an expansive outdoor area, with a sandpit, plenty of grassed areas and trees for shade, a large number of tables and chairs on which to sit and relax, our Gaia main stage and of course, our quaint chill and lifestyle areas.

This festival will bring a variety of artists together from across Australia, as well as support our local talent. There will be some fantastic decor, artwork, lighting, visuals and staging production. In addition to the formal proceedings there are a number of activities, such as workshops, our morning "hug fest" and our very own "playtime pool party" on the Sunday afternoon, with super soaker action on the main stage.

Our first round artist announcement will occur on 31st November. Stay tuned for details.

Parking and Camping
There is plenty of space for parking and some limited camping onsite. There is a carpark, an old road and an adjacent field next to the site.

Security, first aid, flush toilets, food and drinking water will all be available on site.

Site rules:

No alcohol is to be brought into the site. This will be strictly enforced. There are two bars on the site with reasonable prices. The drinks from the bars are already cold and are super convenient to purchase. Cars may be searched on entry by our security to stop people from smuggling in alcohol. Please do not bring your own grog.

This event is also drug free. Please remember that abstinence is the safest form of drug use. If you choose to use, please bear in mind that you are breaking the law. Look after your mates. If anyone is in trouble, get help.

Wristbands must be worn at all times. Wristbands allow security to determine whether people have been granted proper access to the event. If you are caught not wearing a wristband you will be removed from the festival without a refund. If your wristband is starting to come off, you will need to come to the door in order to get a replacement.

No dogs are allowed. The site is not suitable for pets, so please leave them at home. Loud music also frightens animals who tend to possess much better hearing than what we do.

Drink plenty of water. This is a summer festival and the daytime temperatures could be quite high. Water stations will be setup on site in order to keep you hydrated. We recommend that you bring a water bottle to fill up. Bottles of water can also be purchased from the bar and cups of water are available for free.

Please follow the old adage Peace, Love, Unity, Respect. These words, if practiced by all, will ensure a peaceful and harmonious festival where everyone looks after each other. The word 'respect' also applies to our environment. Leave no trace and take your litter with you, or put it into the bins that we will provide.

Mentor and coach We ask that those of you with experience of doof culture to look after the younger generation. If you are bringing a first-timer to the festival please introduce them carefully.

Be free and self-express The MotherNature team have worked hard to build a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages creativity and self-expression. Take the opportunity that this presents.

Learn and grow In addition to the music there will be opportunities to learn about new fields and develop as a person.

Remember This festival is more than just a party. It's a lifestyle. Bear in mind that some of the things that make these events worthwhile is spending time socialising with friends, meeting new ones, and enjoying the outdoors.
